History

Building of a Success Story

Christoph Bugs – Managing Director

Around 1990, Digital Information was set up by Michael Haenni and Christoph Bugs, two young IT specialists with a background in media. Today, the company is well known in the graphics industry – not only in its home country of Switzerland but also worldwide.

Communicators helped to make the start

Creative customers were of great help in establishing the company in 1991 – advertising agencies, newspapers, printing shops. In other words: communicators in need of highly efficient and superior IT systems and network solutions.

Coming along well

Consolidating steps were not long in coming. In 1994 Digital Information moved to the newly opened Technopark in Zurich. Two years later, the firm was transformed into a Limited company, and Michael Haenni and Christoph Bugs began to develop their own software products. In 1996 they launched version 1.0 of their legendary DI-Plot bitmap proof system. Today Digital Information resides in the emerging Zurich Altstetten district.

Digital Information has set industry standards

With several thousands installed licenses InkZone has become a standard name in the graphics industry. This comprehensive product suite launched by Digital Information in 2001 has enabled hundreds of printers to integrate their existing and new presses into their digital networks.

What’s behind it

Sales and support are organized from head office in Zurich. The products are available worldwide through a network of distributors, resellers and OEM partners. Development is also set up internationally: it is located in Switzerland and Romania.

The secret of success

Digital Information has kept track of technical development in the graphics industry and remained in close contact with its customers. Therefore it could quickly react to their needs and present tailor-made solutions at the right time. Being aware of its strength Digital Information can look confidently into the future.
